Chapel of Our Lady at Lazne pod Zvicinou

Zvičina is one of the most prominent hills in the Podkrkonoší region in the Czech Republic. On the northern slope of the hill there is a spring which is said to be miraculous. In 19^th century a wooden chapel was built at the spring and in 1880 a restaurant was founded next to it, which was later turned into a hotel and evolved into a small spa resort, called Lázně pod Zvičinou. In 1903 a new brick chapel of Our Lady in Neo-Romanesque style was consecrated. During the Communist rule it was turned into a warehouse and it partly dilapidated, but fortunately current owners of the hotel restored the chapel, so now it can be occasionally used both for worship and for cultural events such as concerts and exhibitions.

In this chapel there was a small exhibition of my pictures, called Churches and Chapels of Podkrkonoší Region (and this picture itself was part of that exhibition).
