Description
Eärnil I
neleqëa aran Ondonórëo
Eärnil I was the thirteenth king of Gondor. He was son of Tarciryan, son of king Siriondil. In T.A. 913 he succeeded his uncle Tarannon Falastur, who died childless. Eärnil became the second of the great Ship-kings of Gondor: He continued with the expansionist maritime policy of his predecessor by constructing a great navy, repairing the ancient havens of Pelargir and then capturing the Haven of Umbar in 933. His reign however didn't last long; he was tragically lost at sea in 936 near Umbar and was succeeded by his son Ciryandil.
After some delay there is another of the kings of Gondor. For the next of the mighty Ship-kings I continued with the complex decoration of Tarannon Falastur. Dominant colour is again blue, representing the sea. Here you can see victorious king Eärnil after the capture of Umbar.
