Description

"Eilenach was the second of the seven beacon-hills of Gondor, after Amon Dîn in the east, and it was the highest point of the Drúadan Forest. It had a sharp summit, uncapable of sustaining a large fire. Its main purpose was to relay the fire of Amon Dîn to Nardol."

Pen, coloured pencils and watercolour

On the Hudson River is a town named Beacon. Back in the Revolution a beacon fire was set on the mount to alert the rebels. It gave the name to the town that grew in the area. I had occasion once to stop at a diner to ask directions to the Taconic parkway. Tho I had traveled the parkway as a passenger with my parents to Hopewell Junction, this was the first time I drove there, and fearing getting lost, I got directions and very helpful they were.  This diner was just before the road goes through the mount.
